#FLGag – Hashtags for Everyone!

#tags (hashtags) help make sense of the noise within Twitter. #FLGag will be our community-driven convention for adding your tweets directly to our site. You can create your hashtag simply by prefixing your tweet with the hash symbol: #flgag. By creating and using #flgag, we can easily filter your tweets and show that your tweets really matter to Florida Gaggle community.

Search within FLGaggle.com

Ever notice the hash links (#legfl, #rpof, #etc.) and wonder what good they were? These are tags that allow people to follow tweets about certain subjects. For instance, #legfl is a tag for the Florida legislature. If you see a hash link in a tweet here, just click on it and the Florida Gaggle will display all the most recent tweets on that subject. (Did you know that the # sign was originally called 'octothorp'? In the U.S., it's usually called the 'number sign', but in most English-speaking countries, it's called a hash, or pound, if it follows a number.)
